The woman that lost control of her vehicle sustained injuries that were not considered life threatening. She provided the Louisiana State Police with a toxicology sample and was taken in to talk to investigators about the accident. The screening was said to be routine, but depending on the results of the test, it could affect any charges that may be filed against the driver.
As the investigation progresses, the family of the deceased victim may be struggling to deal with her sudden death. The victim was only 37 years old when she died. Any family members that may be left behind retain the right to file a wrongful death claim against the driver of the other vehicle regardless of the criminal charges that may be filed.
